We believe at CoffeeCup that everyone is the same. We appreciate all points of view and whether they come from a man or a woman does not change the fact that great ideas come from every corner of our society. We encourage women to start Websites whether for their small businesses, home businesses or hobbies. The Internet is the great equalizer and we can all do wonderful things with the right tools like great hosting and Web design software.

Great to see the new blog, Amy. Some of the articles like the Bandwidth & Data Transfer - Fact VS Myth one (http://blog.lunarpages.com/?p=5) are fantastic.

For having more women at conferences and in the webhosting industry in general, I think it's up to us encouraging our friends that are women to join us and support them to learn more. I know that I learnt a lot from you and Lee and Stephanie, and wouldn't have the knowledge I do today without all 3 of you encouraging me to succeed.

Really, we just need to do what the old boys do but for the young women instead (we are all young women at heart , even those of us like myself who aren't so young in time years anymore). What that means is giving a helping hand to women in realizing their potential to succeed.

Encouraging women to succeed, however, doesn't mean we would be playing favorites over men or discouraging men in doing well either. It simply means that, rather than treat women as if they can't succeed, we let them know by our own examples of success how well they can do in this industry. Additionally, when we do training for women, letting them know they are doing an awesome job and have great potential can really boost morale, especially for women who have the technical capabilities and simply need that encouragement.

You are already on the right path doing this, and we simply need all the women in the industry to do the same for our numbers to keep growing. Lunarpages is a great example how it is possible for competent women to succeed in webhosting.
