“Hello… My name is Jay, and I am a geek.”

-wait for Applause and “Hiiiiii Jay”-

Okay, so since this is my first official entry for Amy’s blog, Please bear with me now that the formalities are out of the way.

(I’ll get to the pics in a just second! There’s a story that goes with it.)

So anyway, I’m checking my email first thing this morning, and strangely enough my personal blog got a new comment to review. My first thought when I saw the validate request in my mailbox was along the lines of “Argh! My arch nemesis “WordPress Spambot” has returned!“.
But… to my delightful surprise it was a “legitimate” comment.

Here’s the thing, I’d posted an Entry there (my own personal site) a while ago, mirroring Amy’s Webmaster Jam Session post here some time back, and figured “Heck, why not try to pull in at least one or two more hits for this thing“. I don’t think it’s really paid off as intended, but I tried, and that counts for something I’m sure!

So, yea, I think I got a *legitimate hit on my own site today, and I thought I’d shared since it was related.
*legitimate in this sense being that it wasn’t myself, my fiancee, family, or friends… or that pesky Spambot.

Granted, I realize it was likely just this blogger and Search Evangelist’s way of spamming the blogging world with his pics n’ coverage of the WJS2006 (worked!), but I tell you what… I won’t complain, since he made my morning.

You can catch the pics by clicking here *link to pics courtesy of “The Agency Blog”
Incidentally, I’ve only found one picture of Amy there so far.

Alternatively, you can find a bunch more here

Here are some fun “after conference” shots:

I would just like to note that Jay was NOT lying when he said he was geek. He truly is. We love him for it. ;)

By the way, lately his nickname around here has been Captain Kirk. It’s quite fitting. Really.
