Thankful for Tech Support
Author: Mitch Keeler
No matter where the tech support may call home (Lunarpages has some of the best, I might add) you should be thankful that they are there. Can you image a world without them? Who would fix our hosting accounts? Who would let me know what is wrong with my computer? Who would tell me “No!” when I try to stick a fork in the microwave?
Many of us take these people for granted because they have always been there and they will always be here. As long as there are problems, there will need to be somebody there to fix them.
I wasn’t always so thankful for tech support though. Before I started working in the Web hosting industry, I was probably like many of you. I never gave it a second thought. Sure, I was happy when the support was good – and mad when the support was not that great. However, I had never gave much time to think about where I would be without these wonderful people.
One of the reasons why I keep buying HP computers is because I have had such excellent service with them. A few years back, when I bought a new PC, my monitor that came with it was a little busted. I let them know about it and they sent a new one to me with hardly any questions asked. Now looking back, I kind of feel bad for not thanking everybody in the process as the gears were in motion.
I love my local UPS guy! Out of all the package delivery people, they are the only ones that will put my package inside the back door. I am lucky if the DHL dude can even find my house.
So take it from somebody who has been on both sides of the fence; you should always let the good support folks know they are doing a great job. When you work a thankless job and do nothing but listen to people’s problems, a thank you will put a smile on any body’s face. What was the last event that made you happy to have these people in your life?

Dear Mitch
Thanx a ton for ur post :-)
I came across your blog in blogger.com and when I finished reading your blog, I felt proud.
The reason being, Im in tech support from past 5 years and I love job.
Everybody thinks that itz easy job, lemme say it’s not, It requires tons of patience, hard work and passion to make the customer happy.
sometimes if the issue doesnt get resolved, we are the guyz who feel bad about it, coz the customer’s issue was not resolved
Sometimes we are helpless coz nothing can be done if sum part of the computer is dead.
But we guyz put our heart n brain to make the customer happy, the customer may be a computer-literate or a beginner….it doesnt matter…we treat everyone.
Lastly, I would thank you for your lovely blog..keep writing
Happy writing
