here we would like to know these days google is checking the whois data of domains in a algorithm change. how does this is possible to check domain name privacy of a customer. We would be post this news at http://www.sgdnetworks.com inorder to make a note to all customers. Because some of the customers may interest about SEO, then?

I think anyone into SEO would know these claims are VALID. Exploiting sandbox filter and domian age filter is something any SEO would love to bypass.

No it is not really safe to use gmail as you can see here. The security flaw has been fixed but at one time this was a huge issue in the Google world right around the time they entered china search industry.

I think they do know about expired domain names. They don’t know about websites that do a transfer of ownership though. They do now.

I heard google is going to shut you guys down for saying this though!!!!

$10? Pretty expensive…
They already penalyze expired domains, and even those that never get deleted, but change hands at some market places. This is just the next step.

Google is actually a domain name registrar; see here (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/02/01/google_domain_seller/)

It looks like they are utilizing a partnership via a reseller program kinda like tucows does with many sites but different ;-)

Companies who are under the ICANN accreditation are able to see registrants personal information IF that person register’s through them.

I think what Joe was trying to get at is that if people buy THROUGH Google then that gives Google the authority to see more detailed information on the domain name. As of right now they can only utilize whois services. From what the Associated Press said is that Google is not only a registrar but is now setting up a service for people to buy domain names through them. The partnership is simply a means to be able to do this effeciently.

I think you miss understand. Google is not registering your domain. Your domain is held by a normal registrar, like Godady, or eNorm. Google is simply just trying to make it easier to use Google Apps if you don’t not already own a domain.

I imagine many small business owners might not know a lot about technology or DNS and just want to get their email up and running. This service will let them do it.

I can’t say if they are out to take over the world or not, but if they are, I would think they would want to registrar the domains them self and not pass them off to a partner.

I totally feel you on this. I have purchased sites that already have PR and rankings to bypass the filters. I would hate for them to catch onto this because I would loose money! Thanks Joe!
