Show iGoogle Some Lunarpages Love
Author: Mitch “Kevin Costner Who?” Keeler

I have been wanting to tinker with creating an iGoogle gadget for a while now - just never had a good reason or cause to do it. That was the case of course till last night while cruising through some of the recent threads over on the forums. Then I heard a voice - a voice that said, “Give the Lunarpages customers an easier way to access some of the most often clicked links that Lunarpages.com has to offer.”
Oh yeah, it also said something about “If you build it they will come…” or something to that effect.

Here is a closer view on what you can get on your iGoogle page once you add it. As you can see everything from the Lunarforums to submitting a help desk ticket is on there. Not too shabby for a quick day and a half of learning the iGoogle gadget ropes.
Just click the link above to add it to your own iGoogle homepage. Let me know what you think too - this one was so much fun to create, might just have to do some more.

Oh nearly forgot one thing, you can add it to your Web site too if you want. All you need to do is click this link to do so. ;) Pick a neat border for it and go to town. Just one more nice little addition I found while I continue to learn about the Google Gadget stuff.

It gets even more fun when you throw in some live data with xml. Here’s the one I made so I can keep an eye on my site’s stats…

Yeah, I have been playing around with a few of the more advanced thing you can do. Got to say it is addicting if you are a person who likes to tinker with stuff.

Nice add-on Mitch! The only thing I’d like to see that’s not already there, if possible, is a “Link to Forum messages unread since last visit.”
I know you’re lovin’ the tinkering!

Great idea Mitch. I bet this is only the tip of the iceburg with what you are going to come out with.
