SEO Tips for the Everyday Person
Author: Mitch Keeler
Making your way to the top of the search engines is not an easy task. It takes hard work, dedication and a little luck to be on your side. So how can you ever hope to rank higher than you already do? Well I have a handful of search engine optimization tips that might help you get going.
Use Title Tags for Links – Including title tags for your links is a good way to help people learn a little more about the link itself, and it also gives the search engine spiders a little more content to crawl through. As with any tip, you might just want to make sure you do it in moderation. A few words to help people find out what the link is about won’t hurt though.
Get a Sitemap – A sitemap is handy to have because it gives a full link list for the search engine spiders to follow. This way you can be sure they see all of your links for all of your web pages as well. You might also want to look into creating a special Google sitemap too.
Mix Up Your Pages’ Titles – Is the title for every single web page on your web site the same? This might be hurting you in the long run. Instead of just using “YourDomain.com” as the title of all your web pages – try describing the specific page first, such as “About Us – YourDomain.com”.
