Great Web Site Review Tool

Author: Mitch Keeler
So how does your web site stand up to some of the biggest ones out on the Web? It doesn’t matter if your coming in first or last, this web site review tool is a great one to use not only to figure out where you stand – but how to make your web site rank even higher out there.
WebsiteGrader.com gives you more output options than you could ever want or need. It tells you how you rank in just about every way, shape or form out there on the Web.
Here is a little more about the web site from the creators themselves.
Website Grader is a tool that helps measure the effectiveness of a website, from a marketing perspective. It assigns a numerical score from (a “grade”) to a given website. The score ranges from 0-100 (technically, 0-99 as 100 is not possible). It is based on a variety of data points about the website including the structure of the site, popularity, traffic, search engine optimization, marketing features and a slew of other things.
It covers search rankings, digg submissions, readability, Alexa traffic ranking, del.icio.us bookmarks, Technorati ranking, inbound links, page rank and a whole lot more.

What a great tool! I spent part of the holiday making corrections based on the site report WebSiteGrader gave me and I’ve already noticed a 49% improvement in my score there. Thanks for sharing!
One thing though… One of the items the report said I needed to improve upon was this:
“Permanent Redirect Not Found – Search engines often regard http://www.yoursite.com and yoursite.com as two different websites unless you take specific measures to signal to them that they are the same site.
The best way to handle this situation is to setup what is known as a permanent redirect (or a “301″ redirect) from one of these sites to the other. This way, any links that are pointing to the secondary site benefit the primary site, from an SEO perspective.
We could not detect a permanent redirect for this site, so it may be experiencing the negative effects of link fragmentation (some of the inbound links may point to http://www.yoursite.com and others to yoursite.com)”
As a Lunar Pages Basic package customer, how might I set up this “301 Redirect?”

Visit here:

and then look around the bottom of the page. If that doesn’t work, might try searching Google for .htaccess 301 redirect. Took me a while to get the hang of it – but I am in the process of doing the same with all of my domains as well. :) Hope that helps!
