Lunarpages Loves WordPress
Author: Mitch Keeler
Getting setup with a WordPress blog does not have to be a difficult task at all. In fact, if you have the right web host it can make all the difference. That is where Lunarpages comes into the picture. We host tons of WordPress installations and we make the process quick, easy and painless for everybody.
Which two plans would make the best home for your WordPress installation? Both the Basic hosting plan and the Business hosting plan should meet all of your needs. The Basic plan comes with 350 GB of storage space and 3,500 GB a month of bandwidth. If you need a little more, the Business plan comes with an unlimited amount of storage space and 3,500 GB a month of bandwidth. Either way you go it is a deal that can not be beat.
Might also be a good thing to mention that we offer 10 addon domains per hosting plan. That means you can host 10 additional web sites on your hosting account.
Right now we are running PHP 5.2.3 on all of our new hosting plans and promise to upgrade and update as soon as possible to keep you and your WordPress blog safe. Going from PHP 4 to PHP 5 is an easy process due to the tool created by one of our own system administrators. If you can click a link, you can do this upgrade.
All the WordPress requirements are covered:
- PHP 4.2 or greater = Done
- MySQL 4.0 or greater = Yes
- The mod_rewrite Apache module = Got That Too!
You can download it from the WordPress Web site or install it via your control panel. Either option should give you “Grade A” service and stability.
Need another reason to move or setup your WordPress hosting with us? Well, by using the special Lunartics coupon you can get Get $25 OFF! Just enter blog25 into the coupon box when you are checking out.
So if you are tired of having unreliable uptime and perks that seem like more of a burden than a plus, it might be time to start hosting WordPress with us. After you get things up and running, be sure to visit our Lunarforums. These customer forums are there for you to discuss your layout and design, troubleshooting issues and so much more. Top to bottom, left to right – Lunarpages is your only true choice when it comes to getting WordPress setup right.

Mitch,
good to see you guys are embracing PHP 5 – seems like a lot of ISPs are clinging to v4 and refusing to move to v5. And that _is_ a smokin’ deal especially w/ the 1/4 off coupon. One thing I wanted to make your customers aware of (since a lot of people making a new blog prefer to work with a local copy as it let’s them populate content more quickly as well as publish the whole site at once rather than working piecemeal on live remote instance). You can use the WP JumpBox to quickly mock up your blog locally on your computer and then use the export/import feature to publish to a hosted version. That is done on the dev instance under Manage->Export->Download Export File to create the XML file and on the production instance under “Import.”
The WP JumpBox can be found here-> http://www.jumpbox.com/wordpress-blogging-jumpbox/
cheers
Sean
