Nvu – Powerful WYSIWYG Editor
By Mitch “Easy Editing” Keeler
Maybe you don’t have the cash to splurge on Dreamweaver or FrontPage but you still want a good WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) editor. What options do you have for your web hosting plan? There are many out there – but top of the line in my opinion is Nvu.
Nvu is the open source version of the editor that used to come with Netscape. It has been improved upon though by the open source community and has become on of the better free site editors out there. If you can use a word processor, you can use Nvu to create and maintain your own web site.

Nvu Pro: Great editor for static sites, and the help section is awesome too.
Nvu Con: Might take some playing around with before you learn how to use it.

Once you learn how to do things and what you are doing, Nvu is a great tool for any webmaster to use to build up their web site, update their content and change their design. It is powerful yet doesn’t overwhelm you with a lot of stuff you do not need.
