Designers Win $1000 and 5 Years Web Hosting – WordPress Theme Contest Series 2!

Remember that awesome WordPress Theme Design Contest we ran a couple months back? The one where we gave away over $2300 in web hosting and cash prizes?
Well, it’s back!! And we couldn’t be more excited!
The rules have changed a bit to include mention of the exact schedule for voting and submissions (also noted below) as well as voting by Lunarpages Staff, ensuring all votes are tracked and accounted for.
The prizes, however, are just as juicy ;)
- First Prize is $1,000 cash and 5 years free hosting on our Basic Plan
- Second Prize is 3 years free hosting + $300 cash
- Third Prize is 1 year free hosting + $100 cash
Entering is just as simple as before – just Submit Your Theme and you’re in. We’ll post the top 5 Best WordPress Themes each week starting April 21 right here on the Blog for our community to vote on. Feel free to submit as many WordPress themes as you’d like and remember that we’ll be sharing them with everyone at the end of the contest, so the more the merrier!
Every week starting April 21, we will announce our Top 5 Favorites and post them here for you guys to vote on. The winner of each week will be announced the following week and has a guaranteed spot in our Top 15 Finalists.

New submission entries close on June 22, 2008, and the winners are announced on July 8, 2008, via our Blog and will be featured in our July 2008 Web Hosting Newsletter!

@ Vinh Le: You must be the creator of the theme and allow us to host your theme on our free WordPress themes page after the contest for webmasters to download.
You can enter existing themes you have already made and as many as you like :)

Sorry for not being able to get the point, but before proceeding with submission I will like to clarify one thing. Incase if I submit a theme, would I give you some rights to delete or modify it. Does above rule means that?
And also, my theme is a magazine style theme which wouldnt look normal unless some codings are adjusted. Are you going to show a preview link to outside, or set the themes on your server (in that case it wouldnt look more than an empty page) ?

Hi Mehmet,
That line you’re referring to just means we can reproduce your theme and showcase it on any of the websites we own. That’s actually a good thing for you, because your work will be seen by a huge audience. So no, we’re not going to delete and/or modify your theme in any way, and it will always belong to you to sell or distribute as you see fit. :)

Thanks for the answer Tiara,
However, there is something still unclear. The theme (which I provided a link on my previous comment) is a magazine style theme. This kind of themes needs to be adjusted according to category id’s when it comes to installation. Otherwise, it really would be just a blank page. Would you accept any preview link instead of or along with the zip file?
One very last question, can I participate in with sponsored themes?

Mehmet, as far as I know you can enter with sponsored themes but for the demo and download at LP, the sponsored links are getting removed and only designer’s credits are reserved.
Great to see the contest up, can’t wait to see the entries! I will try to invite jinsona and beautyinmind, they are talented beyond belief and have a great chance.

I have a question.
This contest is just for USA people? Because i’m from the other side of the world but i like to participate. What must i do? I need to create a theme just in english language? Or can play with other languages themes?
