SEO Friendly Images
By Mitch “SEO Friendly” Keeler
Your images are not often the first thing you think about when it comes to SEO or search engine optimization. However, they do play an important part – so bet to make sure they are taken care of well. If you have a WordPress powered blog – to take some of the load off, try out the SEO Friendly Images plugin.
Here is a little more about the WordPress plugin, from the developer:
SEO Friendly Images is a Wordpress optimization plugin which automatically updates all images with proper ALT and TITLE attributes. If your images do not have ALT and TITLE already set, SEO Friendly Images will add them according the options you set. Additionally this makes the post W3C/xHTML valid as well.
The ALT attribute is pretty important when it comes to search engine optimization. What job does it have? Well, it helps describe your image to search engine and when a user searches for a certain image this is a key determining factor for a match. The TITLE attribute is important too, because it tells your visitors what that image is about, if they hover over it.
You can pick up SEO Friendly Images on the WordPress plugins page or learn more about it via the official SEO Friendly Images web site.
