How to Make Money with Amazon Associates
By Mitch “Amazon-a-holic” Keeler
It is a new year, so are you looking for a new way to earn a little extra cash?

With Amazon’s Associates plan, you man make money by advertising Amazon products. Via the front page of their web site, they promise 15% earnings for your trouble too. Here are the three services they are offering right now:
Links and Banners – Link to Amazon or Endless products, your favorite destinations, search results, or any other page on Amazon.
Widgets – Want something that stands out and provides rich content and an interactive experience to people visiting your web page?
aStore – Feature any Amazon products in a self-contained online store embedded directly within your web page.
Sounds like a pretty good deal, right? On the postive side you have a name you know and trust behind it all. (Who doesn’t love Amazon?) However, on the negative side, I am not sure this type of web site advertising is best for everybody.
For example, a personal site might not be the best place because I don’t go to my buddy Joe to do my shopping. On the other hand, if you are running a sponge review web site, and you have ads for sponges – I might be more willing to click, cause I am already looking at sponge reviews.

Thanks again Mitch! I think my favorite part about their program is the little bar acrosss the top that quickly lets me make an affiliate link from any page I’m on.

I use this on our weaving guild website that is hosted on lunarpages. I do not think it gets a big amount of traffic outside our 150 or so members, but some are good amazon customers and do use our link. We make about $400 a year for the guild. We usually get 6% to 6.5% with one unobtrusive ad on the right sidebar of each of our pages. We also have our guild library online with links from it to amazon for purchase of weaving related books.

Thanks for the info. Amazon has some new integration tools that really are a break from the old 460×60 banners.

whenever someone visits that site, the registered owner makes money, it’s called traffic. For every person that visits these sites and every sale that these sites make, the owner is paid a commission. Which pretty much sums up what this Jeff Paul program is
