Lunarpages says no to SOPA
Lunarpages supports an open Internet environment. That said Lunarpages of course does not support online piracy such as Copyright/Trademark infringement or the distribution of protected material. The current “Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA)” legislation is a very important factor in the idea of an open internet as it could easily restrict such a concept. While the core objective of SOPA is to seemingly protect the owners and organizations holding these Copyrights and Trademarks, it is clear that a complete understanding of the topic is lacking by those who are authoring the legislation. As it is currently written SOPA is not supported by Lunarpages. It is our hope that this proposed version of SOPA is recognized as flawed and rewritten to take into consideration not only the owners of marks but also the various providers involved and most importantly the online users.
