E-Mail Support Now Built into LPQuickSite

After listening to user feedback, Lunarpages has rolled out a new e-mail feature for the LPQuicksite hosting plan I am sure you will all enjoy. Now, instead of going through your account’s control panel to access your e-mail settings, you can do so right from the LPQuicksite interface.

From there, you can:

Add/Remove E-mail Accounts
Access Webmail
Access Your Spam Filter Settings
Checkout Your Disk Space Usage and Quota
… and more!

Syndication Comes to LPQuicksite Blog

RSS feed support is turned on by default whenever you start a blog from inside of LPQuicksite. RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication gives your blog’s readers a way to know when the blog has been updated, even when they are not viewing the web site.

How can I edit the options for my RSS feed?

From within the LPQuicksite interface, hover over “Edit Content” and then click on “Blog”. On the left hand menu, you should now see RSS Feed as an option to edit. Clicking it will bring up a new box with the RSS options inside.

From within the RSS Options you can:

Enable and Disable the RSS Feed Support
Give Your E-mail Address (as the blog’s owner)
Add a Copyright Notice for the RSS Feed’s Content

Once you have made all the changes you wish to make, click on the “Save” button. The “Close” button will Close the window, and not save your changes.

What is my LPQuicksite Blog RSS URL?

Your RSS feed will look something like this:

http://www.yourdomainname.com/rss.php

Replacing www.yourdomainname.com with your actual domain name. Also an RSS link and icon will be added to your blog’s template.

Design Your Own Flash Headers

Tired with boring text, and flash that isn’t interactive? If so, you will be greatly surprised by the latest new feature we added to the LPQuicksite plan. LPQuicksite now allows you to edit templates that contain flash headers.

By doing so, you can give your own template layout another layer of customization, helping to separate your web site from the rest of the crowd.

How to Pick a Layout that Has a Flash Header

So, want to get started with your own design for a flash header? It is incredibly easy to do.

Step #1 – First, login to your LPQuicksite account, hover your cursor over the “Design” tab, and click “Template Gallery”.

Step #2 – Now, the second step is to pick a design that has a flash header. This can be done by clicking “Flash Headers” under the Categories listing in the gallery of templates.

Step #3 – Your third step is to click on the design you wish to use and hit the “Continue” link, and that template design will be selected.

How to Customize Your Flash Header

Customizing your flash header is also an easy thing to do. Hover your cursor over the “Design” tab, and then click on the “Customize Header” link.

On the next page, you will be able to edit the web site title and subtitle. The web site title is the main (and sometimes bigger) title people will see on the top of your web pages. The subtitle is the secondary (and sometimes smaller) title people will see under the web site title.

For both the web site title and subtitle you have the following customization options. You can change the font, using the following selections:

Default
Arial
Comic Sans
Courier New
Tahoma
Times New Roman
Verdana
Trebuchet MS
Georgia
Helvetica
Lucida Grande
Monospace

You can change the font sizes to:

Default
Smaller
Small
Large
X-Large
XX-Large

Other font modifications include the ability to:

Change the Font Text Color
Make the Text Appear in Italics
Make the Text Underlined

Once you are done with your changes, hit the “Save” button, and when you are ready to go live with your changes hit the “Publish” tab and follow the on screen instructions.

How Can I Add My Own Logo to the Header?

Adding a logo to your header is also an easy task with LPQuicksite.

To do this (from the Design > Customize Header screen), under “Logo:” hit the browse button and find the image you wish to use. Once you have located it, click “Open” and you will see the path to the image has been filled into the text box on the Customize Header screen. Hit the “Save” button, and when you are ready to go live with your changes hit the “Publish” tab and follow the on screen instructions.

YouTube Video Embedding Comes to LPQuicksite!

Our web site publishing tool and hosting plan, LPQuicksite is getting better day after day. One of the most recent features to be released is the ability to add YouTube videos directly into your page using our special importer tools.

First thing you will want to do is login to your LPQuicksite account, then go to Edit Content > Manage Pages and pick the page you wish to add the YouTube video content to. Once the web page editor has loaded, you should notice a small YouTube logo in the toolbar. Click it, and a window will pop up asking for some more information.

Under the Info tab, you can past your YouTube URL into the empty text box marked for the URL in question. You can then click on refresh to get a preview of the video, before you insert it.

On the Advanced tab, you can select from a number of different sizes and color schemes for the video.

You can also disable/enable the following features:

Begin playing video after X amount of seconds
Use High Quality (if available)
Play video again and again
Include related videos
Show Border
Enable the fullscreen button
Show title and rating before the video starts playing
Disable the player keyboard controls

Once you have the video ready, hit the “Save” button. It will now be inserted into your web page editor. To save the video onto the page you are editing, hit “Save” again.
